UTAR is a not-for-profit private university fully owned by the UTAR Education Foundation which receives funding from the generous contribution of benefactors, organisations, the alumni and the public community. UTAR's main objective is to provide affordable quality tertiary education to the community. UTAR is further extending its reach to the community by setting up a hospital in Kampar that will provide affordable quality medical services in Western Medicine and also Traditional and Complementary Medicine, such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Ayurvedic Medicine.
