Get ready for a musical extravaganza! The
Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra – Debut Malaysia Tour 2024 is a sensational
collaboration between UTAR and the prestigious Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra
(HKCO). Witness history as the HKCO graces Malaysia for the first time, led by
Mr. Chew Hee Chiat, the Assistant Artistic Director and Resident Conductor of
HKCO as well as an esteemed Malaysian conductor. Beyond music, the concert aims
to ignite a cultural exchange, offering participants an opportunity to dive
into a meaningful exchange that goes beyond melodies, enriching the
appreciation of Chinese culture.

For the premiere performance of ourconcert on 3rd & 7th August 2024, get ready to be spellbound by our Classic series, showcasing captivating performances like Ng King-pan's “The Chorale of Spring”, Ng Cheuk-yin's “Essence (The sixth movement from Ji)”,Chan Ming-chi's “Jing‧Qi‧Shen”, Sui Lijun 's “Song of the Black Earth” the enchanting Sanxian, Narrative Singing and Orchestra,the evocative Narrative Singing by Zhao Taisheng, Chow Jun Yi's (a talented young Malaysian composer) “Kampung and the City”, Zhao Jiping's “Follow the Pagoda Tree to Trace the Roots of Our Ancestors”, and Cheng Dazhao's “The Yellow River Capriccio”.
